Travel

Getting to Ahipara in Te Taitokerau (Northland) requires early planning. Ahipara is at the southern end of Te Oneroa a Tōhe (90 Mile Beach) in the far north. It is approximately 325 kilometres north of Auckland. The closest town is Kaitaia, a 15 minute drive to Korou Kore marae in Ahipara.

We strongly encourage you to make arrangements as soon as possible, particularly if you are travelling from further South.  Airport transfers will be provided from and back to Kerikeri airport at set times. The programme starts at 9:30am on Wednesday 21 Hui tanguru (February) 2018 and concludes Friday 23 Hui tanguru (February) 2018 at 12:30pm. A coach service has been arranged for pick up at 9:30am on the first day of the programme. There are two meeting places, Kerikeri airport and Korou Kore marae. We have also arranged transport for those heading back to Kerikeri airport from the marae on the last day.

For those who wish to arrive the day before Hui Fono starts, please get in touch with us to help coordinate arrangements.
